My Story
Before
After
“Here’s the truth: between 80-90% of people who lose a significant amount of weight end up gaining it back... This is because, weight loss is about more than just diet and exercise. It’s about addressing the emotions and deeper pain that’s at the core of why you are reaching for food and carrying excess weight.”
There was a time when I was at my heaviest weight—210 pounds. I felt trapped, convinced I’d never lose the weight, and I was going through a really hard time in my life, both with anxiety and depression. It seemed impossible to stop eating especially at nighttime, no matter how hard I tried, willpower wasn’t enough.
I felt uncomfortable in my own skin. My clothes didn’t fit right, I felt self-conscious in my relationship (including during intimacy) and when I’d go out in public. Seeing myself in photos and videos was shocking, and every day felt like a struggle. Day to day tasks like getting in and out of my car or doing groceries made me feel out of breath. I was constantly tired and unmotivated. Things were piling up around the house. I just felt so unhappy.
I found myself yo-yoing with my weight. Diets and exercise helped but I always ended up breaking my diet, reaching for food once again and gaining back the weight.
Everything changed when I dug deeper and addressed the real reasons behind my struggles with weight and emotional eating. By addressing my emotions and the reasons I was reaching for food, as well as finding greater purpose and joy in my life, I finally broke free from the cycle. I lost 75 pounds and have maintained this weight loss for the past 4.5 years.
Now, I feel confident, energized, and comfortable in my own skin. I feel in control around food and have found balance with the way that I eat and move my body, without following a certain diet or fitness routine. I’ve learned to be in tune with my body and what makes it feel it’s best, while also finding balance with food as it’s a part of our lives and is meant to be enjoyed.
In addition to this, I was able to overcome anxiety and depression naturally, being off of medications for my mental health for over 5 years now.
This transformation has inspired my mission: to help other women achieve lasting weight loss but more than this, helping them to heal their relationship with food, their bodies, and themselves.
I share my story because I want you to know that change is possible. Wherever you are on your journey, don’t give up—you’re capable of so much more than you may realize and you are not alone!
Supporting you on your journey,
Jamie xo
